Helping Vocational and Academic Teachers Collaborate to Improve Students' Reading and Writing Skills: An Over-Time Inservice Activity

In this report, details used to provide a Reading/Writing Institute for vocational and academic teacher teams are presented. Institute objectives included helping teachers to understand the framework within which reading and writing may be used, to understand the use of technical reading and writing strategies, and to apply the strategies in specific settings. The procedures followed can serve as a model for others, including staff development personnel at state and local levels.
