This working paper, originally prepared for presentation at the 1991 ASTD National Conference, examines the personal and psychological makeup of excellent trainers. Training managers from Fortune 500 companies were sent standardized assessment instruments. Psychological, interpersonal, motivational, age, and gender characteristics of excellent trainers were all examined.
