Pedagogical Pluses in Vocational Education

K. P. Cross

This document is the transcript of a speech given by the author. In her remarks, the author uses the three "critical conditions of excellence" for effective teaching and learning discussed in the Study Group of Excellence in American Higher Education's 1984 report Involvement in Learning as a framework for reviewing some recent research on teaching and learning. The "critical conditions of excellence" are (1) student involvement, (2) assessment and feedback, and (3) high expectations.
