New Features Added to the NCRVE World Wide Web Server

NCRVE's World Wide Web server went online in early April (at the URL http://ncrve.berkeley.edu/). The server is still under development; here are some of the improvements made in the last three months:

Hypertext versions of all eight CenterFocus digests on current topics are now available. The most recent titles include:

The NCRVE Products Catalog can now be searched by keyword and browsed by subject and title. The Products Catalog lists all of the Center's monographs, reprints, working papers and videotapes.

VOCNET Subscription List Passes the 1,100 Mark

VOCNET, NCRVE's listserv discussion list, has grown 10 percent since May 1, to the current high of 1,140 subscribers. Approximately 225 items were posted in MayÐJuly, by about 150 different users. See the instructions at the end of this article to see how you can participate!

DISSMN8 Listserv Created

As announced in the cover story of the last issue of CenterWork, a new listserv discussion list has been created: DISSMN8 (pronounced "disseminate"). Its purpose is to offer a national forum for conversations of whatever type among the many actors presently involved in the knowledge dissemination enterprise, posing questions, reporting studies, sharing ideas, seeking advice, and so on, with others throughout the worldwide Internet. See the instructions at the end of this article to see how you can join the discussion.

More Materials Added to Vocserve

In addition to facilities for online discussions and e-mail, the VocServe bulletin board contains materials from NCRVE and other vocational groups. For example, there are now over 200 curriculum abstracts in the project vanguard area of VocServe. This area has been redesigned to allow simple keyword searching, and more extensive search-and-display capabilities are expected to be available later this fall.

In addition, sixteen more items from ERIC/ACVE have been added to VocServe. ERIC/ACVE materials on VocServe now include 24 Digests, 10 Trends & Issues Alerts, and 4 Myths & Realities.

To learn how your vocational group can take advantage of VocServe to share information within your group and with the vocational education community, contact David Carlson at NCRVE.
