NCRVE is beginning a new project designed to assist states in improving student
achievement by strengthening educational practices, assessment and
accountability in vocational education.
State level administrators are implementing various policies and practices that
impact schools, teachers, students and administrators. While each state has
its own context for educational reform with slightly different priorities and
issues, all have the same goal: to improve student achievement.
To assist the state administrators in accomplishing this goal, the Center is
offering workshops during June with technical assistance followed up during the
remainder of the year. These workshops will be based on an assessment of state
needs in the broad areas of standards, curriculum, assessment and the use of
data for program improvement. Teams are encouraged to bring teams of
state-level administrators to the workshops.
There will be a report on the workshops in a future issue of CenterWork.
