Resources for High School Reform

This compilation lists a variety of government, public and private groups that have demonstrated an interest in high school reform. Many have published documents on the subject, provide technical assistance or manage national networks of high schools committed to changing traditional structures and curricula. Those organizations in boldface co-sponsored the New American High School Conference held in Washington, D.C., May 22-24, 1996. This resource section is part of a forthcoming practitioners guide by the National Center for Research in Vocational Education and the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Adult and Vocational Education. In the guide, ten New American High Schools share the many strategies that they are using to make college-and-career preparation for all students a reality. Check here for periodic updates about the availability of the entire document.

Note: This listing is not an endorsement of the organizations or materials by either the U.S. Department of Education or the National Center for Research in Vocational Education.

Note Also: The New American High Schools project at NCRVE ended in 1997, and the contacts listed below are not being actively maintained.
