Transition of Minority Youth into the Work Place

This article examines diversity initatives and other factors that assist and support the successful transition of minority youth into the workplace. This research study uses in-depth, open-ended telephone interview with a panel of twelve diversity experts located throughout the United States. The findings included (1) diversity initiatives most likely to assist and support the successful transition of minority youth into the workplace, (2) key goals that should be advocated for minority youth who are making the transition into the workplace, and (3) criteria for identifying diversity-sensitive work-based learning sites or companies that assist in the successful transition of minority youth into the workplace.
