D. Stern, M. McMillion, C. Hopkins, J. Stone

This article, reprinted from Youth and Society (March 1990), a Sage Publication, discusses the integration of work experience with high school and college courses. The authors review some of the evidence on the increasing demand for learning at work; present some trend data on working students; describe what is known about the effects of work experiences, school supervised and nonschool supervised; and suggest some tentative conclusions.
