Quality of Students' Work Experience and Orientation Toward Work

D. Stern, C. Hopkins, J. Stone III, M. McMillion

This article, reprinted from Youth and Society (December 1990), a Sage Publication, examines the relationship between job characteristics and students' attitudes toward work. The article indicates that students are more motivated when the conflict between work and school is minimized and when the job provides opportunities to use current skills and abilities and to learn new skills.
