Demographic and Psychological Characteristics of Vocational-Technical Instructors Rated as Excellent in Business and Industry and in Postsecondary and Secondary Schools

The purpose of this study was to identify the personality traits associated with vocational-technical instructors rated as excellent by their supervisors. More specifically, the study was designed to identify and compare demographic and personal characteristics, interpersonal styles, and occupational and motivational factors of these instructors within three settings: (1) business and industry, (2) two-year postsecondary institutions, and (3) secondary institutions. The study also was designed to contrast the psychological profiles of the three groups rated as excellent with each other and with the general population.
