On Becoming a Teacher: "They Just Gave Me a Key and Said, 'Good Luck'"

W. G. Camp, B. Heath-Camp

This working paper is based on the NCRVE research project begun in 1988. It focuses on beginning vocational teachers in two groups: those who are entering vocational education directly from college and those who are entering from an extensive occupational experience background. A theoretical framework of teacher development is presented, along with information from intensive case studies and interviews.
