Assessing the Coordination of Vocational Education with Other Federal Programs

W. N. Grubb

This paper was prepared for the National Assessment of Vocational Education (NAVE), U.S. Department of Education. The 1990 Amendments to the Carl D. Perkins Act require that NAVE "include descriptions and evaluations of . . . coordination of services under [the Perkins] Act, the Adult Education Act, the Job Training Partnership Act, the National Apprenticeship Act, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Wagner-Payser Act." This paper outlines the issues involved in coordination, and then presents questions that could be addressed to state and local education officials to assess the extent of coordination of vocational programs with other federal programs.
