Legislative Impact Update
In the April/May issue of CenterWork, we carried a "Legislative Impact
Alert," informing our readers that the Congress was considering
proposals that could change the federal role in education and
drastically alter the funding investment. At that time, there was a
rescission bill which would have eliminated funding for a number of
programs, including the National Center for Research in Vocational
Education (NCRVE). However, NCRVE funding was later restored by the
Senate and was retained during the joint conference committee meeting
between the House and Senate. In addition, the President vetoed the
rescission bill.
Thus, NCRVE will continue to engage in leading-edge research,
development, dissemination, and technical assistance/outreach
